Social Media Marketing - Do it Every Day For At Least An Hour!

There are many activities that fill up our days besides social media marketing. An hour a day might seem like a lot to give up to focus on increasing our online presence and building our social equity. But there are some bonuses that come with organizing a small portion of our time with activities that really matter.

We're not just talking about decreasing the amount of TV or movies we watch, although the sacrifice for doing so is minimal. We are talking about organizing our work day so that we can spend a solid hour working on increasing our relationships with customers, clients, partners, co-workers, vendors, and even competitors.

Here are a few specific social media marketing activities that will pay off huge dividends if we are committed to spend an hour a day doing them.

1. Find one social marketing program. We shouldn't waste our time constantly looking for systems and programs. We could spend months looking at different systems without ever starting to increase our business' visibility and that is not productive. Preferably, the system we choose should combine search engine optimization (SEO) with social media marketing.

2. Start spending and hour a day working through it's modules. Set time a part during the work day. We shouldn't start a new module until we have extrapulated everything that we can from the module we're on. When we do so, we will build a global identity, while creating professional, honest, one-on-one relationships.

3. Fill up down time with proven habits such as listening to motivational or social media optimization (SMO) training, calling a client just to see how they are doing, and taking advantage of the opportunity to visit our competitors just to see what they have up their sleeves this week.

4. Get to know co-workers and vendors better. I once sold an item that had been on inventory for nearly a year simply by asking our delivery personnel if they knew anyone who might be interested in it! They appreciate our concern and our sincere desire that they succeed. Spend some time with them and watch their productivity soar!

In an effort to heed my own advice, and not feed you more than you can chew - at least while keeping your mouth closed - I will end there. Follow these simple concepts of focusing on social media marketing an hour a day and you will be successful.

Building Social Equity (or Social Media Optimization) Is All About Building Trust

No, SMO does not stand for Save My Organization. However, when we follow specific, proven strategies, building social equity will do just that - Save our organizations!
Social Media Optimization (SMO) assists organizations in their efforts to reach out to the global market with their products and services. The most important aspect of SMO is to build a strong relationship of trust with clients, vendors, and potential clients.
There are several ways to build trust with the global market.
First, never begin a relationship as a salesperson. Start the relationship listening, not talking. The more we find out about others, the more information we will have to service their individual needs. The more we learn about others, the more avenues we will have to build social equity with them!
Second, we should always give before we get. This is tough sometimes when everyone is in a giving mood. Nevertheless, when we ask ourselves honestly, "What can we do to help this person succeed?" We will be prompted to assist them in a way that doesn't cost our new acquaintance anything. It can be as simple as a physical Thank you card instead of an email. It might be a phone call. It might be putting them in contact with a client of ours that would benefit from our new friend's product or service. Something that we should voice in every discussion with every business associate is the sincerely asked question "Is there anything I can do for you?" This is a proven way to build social equity and it makes us feel good too!
Third, ask for guidance and suggestions. Even competitors are willing to jump on the social media optimization wagon with us when we open lines of honest communication. These open lines of communication often create lasting partnerships. Everyone enjoys the feeling of being needed. When we ask questions, our relationship increases with our newfound contacts. To optimize social media marketing, seek first to understand, then to be understood.
Fourth, constantly seek for the best interest of others. When we are given those highly sought-after referrals, treat them like the golden eggs that they are. Our relationships with acquaintances that gave us the lead will increase when they hear from the referral that we are taking great care of them. In addition, our relationship with our new client will become a loyal, long-standing relationship with additional referrals when we are consistently seeking for their complete satisfaction. Does that mean we might have to send them somewhere else occasionally when others could serve them better? Yes. However, doing so will create a client who will never go anywhere else for our other products and services.
That is because we build trust when we sincerely strive to meet and exceed the needs and wants of our clients, vendors, and potential clients. Trust is created by giving a refund when our company policy doesn't require it. Trust is created when we listen, give, lean on, and serve. Social media optimization (or building social equity) is all about building trust. It is a trust that we can rely on to create true business relationships - relationships that effortlessly enrich our personal lives.

Get Ready To Make Money By Building Social Equity!

No one likes listening to a sales pitch. But everyone wants to know what his or her friend does for a living. Because of this simple truth, online social sites have gained enormous popularity and website owners are growing their businesses significantly without having to pitch their products.

This article describes specific tools that will increase our social equity online. When we follow these guidelines, we will build relationships that will make a difference in our revenue streams as well as in our personal lives.

First, maintain consistent, if not constant interaction with online associates. This is not just about staying neighborly. When shifts in our industries happen, or are about to happen, our online associates will be there to inform us and give us direction. Having close business contacts could potentially save our businesses. Only through steady, positive communication will we create relationships that matter.

Second, ask for help. When we ask for assistance from experts in our field, it improves our relationship with them, it doesn’t diminish it. People love to feel valued. When they see that our intention to learn is genuine, they will respect us for asking, and our social equity with that person will increase. Stopping other activities to give our complete attention to our online peers is a great way to build social equity.

Third, tell them you appreciate them. One key mistake we make in life and online is not showing gratitude to those around us when we do receive assistance – including assistance that we have paid to receive. Sending a gift, a physical greeting card, a phone call, or even a simple email saying “Thank You” goes a long way to increase our social equity.

Fourth, give freely. When we share valuable industry-shifting information, or offer services or products to our online associates without cost and without expecting anything in return, our value with those relationships increases considerably. We will not only be someone they trust and admire, but someone who they will talk about with their other online acquaintances. Unconditional gifting is as valuable as having trust seals on our websites, and just as effective at growing our businesses.

Fifth, get to know the competition. We have all heard the biblical theme “love your enemies”. Well, one of the best moves we can make to build social equity is to connect in positive ways with our competitors. True, they might not have our best interest at heart. Nevertheless, building social equity with them could lead to a meaningful partnership. Or we might learn which products we are selling that they aren’t, and vice-versa, and which services we offer that they don’t.

In conclusion, as we utilize these tools to build social equity, our needs currently handled by search engines will be fulfilled in much more personable and financially beneficial ways. Soon we will have so many close business associates, that together we will be able to support, guide, and lean on each other to resolve our most pressing questions and concerns. Because that is what friends do.
